Waves of Sound: My Journey into Labor

Pregnancy is a time of transformation, not just for the body but for the mind and spirit. As a sound therapist and musician, I’ve always believed in the healing power of frequency — but I never expected that a saltwater sound bath would be the catalyst for one of the most profound moments of my life: the start of labor.
It was a quiet afternoon when I joined a saltwater sound bath session, seeking relaxation and connection with my baby. The heated pool, infused with salt, created a weightless sensation — a gentle embrace that mirrored the womb itself. As crystal singing bowls began to hum and resonate, I could feel the vibrations not just around me, but within me. The deep, steady tones seemed to sync with my heartbeat, and in turn, with my baby’s.
Why Sound Baths Work During Pregnancy
Sound therapy is more than just a beautiful experience; it’s rooted in science. Studies show that sound frequencies can reduce stress hormones, lower blood pressure, and even stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system — the "rest and digest" mode crucial for pregnant mothers. Research also suggests that swimming during pregnancy can help reduce inflammation, ease back pain, and prepare the body for labor by promoting gentle movement and relaxation. When paired with sound therapy, it becomes a holistic experience — nurturing both body and mind.
Cymatics - The Power of Water and Sound
What made this experience so potent wasn’t just the sound alone — it was the combination of sound and water. This is where cymatics — the study of how sound frequencies affect water and create visible patterns — comes into play. Since the human body is significantly made up of water, these sound waves move through us with incredible ease.
What’s even more fascinating is how certain frequencies, like those from crystal bowls tuned to 432 Hz or 528 Hz, resonate with the human body — including the womb. The amniotic fluid acts as a conductor, allowing these healing vibrations to reach the baby directly. These frequencies mimic the mother’s heartbeat and the rhythmic sounds of blood flow, creating a sense of safety and calm for the developing child.
Sound travels faster through water than air, making the saltwater pool an amplifier for every note played. The combination of buoyancy, warmth, and vibration brought me into a deeply meditative state, and I could feel my baby responding — little kicks, rolls, and moments of stillness. The weightlessness allowed my body to relax.
I truly believe the saltwater sound bath created the perfect environment for my body to release tension, align with my baby’s natural rhythms, and gently tip me into the flow of birth.
By the next morning, I was officially in labor.
Embracing Sound Therapy for Pregnancy and Labor
For anyone expecting, I wholeheartedly recommend exploring sound therapy — whether through sound baths, meditation with singing bowls, or simply immersing yourself in calming frequencies. The connection between sound, water, and the womb is ancient and powerful, offering a way to bond with your baby while preparing both of you for the incredible journey of birth.

This story happened at a floated sound bath facilitated by Amy Jackman. I shared my experience of that day with her and asked if she wanted to contribute to my publishing. I highly recommend her as a sound therapist for all wellness seekers and those seeking prenatal sound therapy.
Sound Healing with Amy Jackman

“Thank you for sharing this incredible reflection on your experience. It’s truly profound how sound, water, and pregnancy are so deeply interconnected, and I’m honored to have held space for you during such a pivotal moment. Your words beautifully articulate the science and spirit of sound therapy, and I love the way you’ve woven cymatics and the wisdom of water into your journey into labor.”
“One of the most unique aspects of my sound bath sessions is the intentional healing energy I bring to each participant. These sessions go beyond just the instruments—I work as a conduit for angelic healing frequencies, tuning into each person’s energetic field to facilitate deep, personalized healing. In the water, this transmission is even more amplified, as sound waves move directly through the body’s cellular structure. For pregnant participants, this connection extends to the baby, making it an experience of shared resonance and “Every session carries its own energetic signature, shaped by the presence and readiness of those in the space. It’s always fascinating to witness how each person’s journey unfolds, sometimes in unexpected ways. It’s a reminder that even when we enter a healing space in one state, the body and spirit often have their own timing and agenda for what unfolds next.”
About Amy Jackman & Her Healing Sessions
Amy Jackman is a Gnostic and Energy Alchemist, a student and teacher of ancient wisdom traditions, and a facilitator of deep transformational healing. Her work bridges the mystical and the practical, guiding others into profound states of energetic alignment, self-awareness, and healing. She draws from Hermetic teachings, sacred sound, breathwork, and vibrational medicine to create experiences that activate and recalibrate the body, mind, and spirit.
Amy works beyond the audible tones of the instruments—she channels and transmits high-frequency energies, particularly Angelic Healing Frequencies, that resonate at a deep, cellular level. Water, as a conductor of sound and energy, amplifies these transmissions, allowing participants to experience an intensified state of vibrational healing. Each session is both a collective and deeply personal journey, where Amy intuitively attunes to the energies present, offering one-on-one energetic support and alignment.
Her work is especially powerful for those navigating major life transitions, including pregnancy, emotional healing, spiritual awakening, and deep energetic shifts. Every session is a sacred space where participants are invited to surrender, receive, and integrate the vibrational upgrades available to them.
